What an excellent choice of colours. I can tell that you put a lot of thought into what your flag is going to represent. I really liked how you represented the ancestors who fought for our country. This is important to acknowledge as their participation in the world wars and wars with in New Zealand is an important part of our countries history.
I am excited to read more of your posts over the Summer Learning Journey. Thank you for sharing your creative flag design with us.
Have a lovely day, Megan from the Summer Learning Journey
Jumbo Nathan, my name is Cia. I am a Summer Learning Journey blogger who will be working with you over the summer break.
What a bright and refreshing flag design! I love how you expressed what each colour represented. Maybe next time you add a symbol or colour that could represent our Tanagta Whenua (Māori), as they are very important part of our culture, history and country.
If I were to redesign the New Zealand flag I’d definitely make use of koru patterns to represent Māori because they use koru to tell their own stories. What symbol or colour would you use to represent Māori if you were to complete a new design or add to this one?
You’ve made a great start to the Summer Learning Journey and I can’t wait to read more of your posts.
Kia ora Nathan,
