matariki week


Last week on Thursday we made kites and stars. We also researched maori gods. We got to fly kites  last week on friday. On Monday Half of the Class want to ten to make bread and the other half stayed in the class making stars with only ONE CUT. We made a big star first we had to do a design on both sides my design was a beautiful picture of matariki stars.

Harakeke with Newmarket primary


Last week on Tuesday Newmarket primary came to our school. They came because they wanted some harakeke for matariki. Harakeke means flax in Maori and Matariki Is the Maori New Year. Stay tuned to my blog for some of my learning about Matariki.
